Jubilee Gang Ministries Update

2016 has been a great year so far! To date we have ministered in over 30 churches and camps, and have seen 988 people come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their life. We have already traveled from coast to coast from VA to CA & AL to MN and then up to Canada and what seems like everywhere in between this year. We still have 5 more events during the last 2 1/2 months of this year. In Nov. we will be heading out to WA state where we will be ministering in Edmonds, WA on Thanksgiving day. During this event we will be ministering to many homeless people and immigrants that have never heard the Gospel. We will be doing three 1/2 hour programs where the Gospel will be presented and people will have an opportunity to make Jesus Lord of their life as well as being fed an awesome thanksgiving meal provided by WestGate Chapel. I am very excited about this opportunity to share Jesus with people that have never heard the Good News! This is what it's all about folks! We have saved and raised around $20,000 toward this project. The cost of the entire stage is around $60,000 however we are doing it in 2 phases. The first phase is the center section which will be a 12' X 8' Video Wall. The cost for this section is $40,000. We have been and continue to be an anti loan family and ministry. However, at this time we felt like it was the right thing to do by borrowing $20,000 to complete this 1st phase, plus replace a few lights that are starting to not work properly. We are trusting God for this money to come in to pay off this loan ASAP. When this is paid off we will invest in the rest of the stage which will cost another $20,000.    This project has been a huge stretch for us. I debated for over a year if we really wanted to go this direction. I don't personally make $60,000 in over 3 years. However, after much prayer and consulting with several pastors we respect and our board, we decided to move forward with this project.   I have said many times that my motto for life has always been "Dream a dream so big that unless God does it, it will not happen." This project has given me the opportunity again to practice what I preach.  Someone once said, "God never gives you a dream that matches your budget. He's not checking your bank account, He is checking your faith."

Family God Encounter in Front Royal, VA.

Last week we ministered to the families of Dynamic Life Praise & Worship Center in Front Royal, VA.

Again it was awesome to see entire families learn together, worship together, have fun together, and experience God together.

We saw 54 children, teens, & adults come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their life during 4 services. Several times the altar was packed with parents & grandparents with their children and grandchildren going after more of God and seeking more of Him together during worship.

Our church was so blessed to have the Jubilee Gang's ministry this past week. They bring a relevant, impacting message for people of all ages. The pace of their presentation is engaging and keeps the audience interested and involved from start to finish.

Ministering to families in Canada!

   Last Friday we partnered with Calvary Baptist Church in Oshawa, ON, Canada to reach out to the families in their community. Around 300 people attended and it was great to see entire families have fun together and learn about God together. During this event we saw around 20 people come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their Life. One family that came forward had been involved in the churches summer sports program but had never came to a service at the church before this night. It was awesome to see the whole family at the altar giving their lives to Jesus.
   Next weekend we will be returning to Front Royal Virginia at Dynamic Life Praise & Worship Center for a 4 day event starting on Sunday, October 9th at 2:30 PM and running through Wednesday Oct 12th with services at 6:30 nightly on Monday through Wednesday.

We were fortunate enough to have Jerry and Candy bring the Jubilee Gang experience to Calvary Baptist Church in Oshawa, ON Canada this past week and we were very impressed with not only the level of professionalism that they blessed us with, but were so thankful to have people so committed to bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to their audience. The Jubilee Gang is just incredible! Over the years in ministry, I have had the Jubilee Gang do our District Kids' Camp, District Family/Kids Camp (Kids Track), and I have also had them here at my local church a couple of times. Every time, they were excellent to work with, organized, fun, exciting, and the kids (and adults) LOVED them! They were great in working with kids, volunteers, everyone. The Jubilee Gang is also VERY engaging for people of all ages. Weekend Family Revivals in WV & TX

We have had a great first 2 weeks of our Fall tour season. 

In Bolt, WV conducted a Friday throughSunday morning family revival at Bolt Church of God we saw 11 children and youth come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their Life. During several of our services we saw the altars filled with entire families on their knees going after more of God.

Last weekend we ministered at Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Troup, TX. On Thursday we did 2 Public School Assemblies in Price, TX and Troup, TX. Then on Friday through Sunday we conducted a Family Revival at the church and saw around 22 people including teens and adults make Jesus Lord of their life. It was awesome to see children, teens, parents, and grandparents all in one service learning together, worshiping together, experiencing God together, and having fun together.

Jerry and Candy are awesome! Their love for children proves out each time they set up or tear down their set. It's no small process. How to promote a Family Service

As we travel across the United States ministering to families, we have learned that certain things work better than others in promoting a family event. Because the concept of family ministry is fairly new to the body of Christ, many church people have no idea what to expect. We have listed a few things that work and don’t work when promoting a family service to your church and community.

I cannot over emphasize how  important it is that you not advertise this as a kid’s event or kids crusade or us as a children’s evangelist. If parents get the idea this is for kids, they will drop off their kids and leave or stand in the hallway and wait for the event to be over instead of attending with their children. Attendance for Kids only events have been decreasing over the last several years and attendance for family events have been increasing.   It’s very important that the Lead Pastor promote the event as a family event from the pulpit. He must let the people know this is a time for the entire family to enjoy church together instead of being separated. The event is for children, teens, and adults, this is a time for parents to bring their kids to a service that everyone can enjoy together. This is a time for grandparents to bring their grandchildren to church. This is a time for families to invite other families in their communities to church or adopt the kids next door for a day. In order to get the parents and grandparents to buy into this concept of a family service. It must be promoted correctly from the Lead Pastor.

Ways to promote this event to your congregation

1. This is a time for your entire families to learn together, get closer to God together, have fun together, and experience God and church together.

2. Too many times we separate children, teens, and adults during church. This is a time that everyone can be together in church, enjoy, and learn together.

5. This will be a fast paced multi-media ministry event that the entire family will enjoy.  

Things you need to know about Jubilee Gang Family Events.

1. Because of our Muti Media presentations and Jerry’s teaching style, Jubilee Gang Family Events are able to reach multi-generational groups of

people.

2. The messages will be simple enough for a child to understand but relative to all ages.

3. Everyone in attendance will enjoy and learn bible truths in a fresh and exciting way.

4. Adults will not feel spoken down to or out of place.

5. Adults, children, and teens will be encouraged to participate in the service, not just observe.

6. Many times adults leave our family events remarking on how much they got out of the service. Some have said they got as much out of the message as their children did.

7. Family services are different than adult services and different than a children’s service. If you do a regular adult service and have the kids attend the kids will be board and check out. If you do a typical kids service the adults will feel spoken down too and out of place and check out. There must be something for everyone to minister to multiple generations together in the same service! Jubilee Gang Family events have just the right combination to minister across generational boundaries.

Jubilee Gang Summer tour comes to an end with 138 Salvation's

Dear friends and partners: We just finished our 2016 summer tour season at 6 churches in KS, NE, WI, MO, & OH. During these 6 event we saw 138 people come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their Life.   So far this year, we have traveled over 20,000 miles, ministered in 28 churches in 13 states and have seen 877 people come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their life during our events.  Next week we are starting our fall tour season. Over the next 3 months we will be ministering in Bolt, WV, Troup, TX, Oshawa, ON Canada, Front Royal, VA, Warren, MI, Picayune, MS, Edmonds, WA, and Port Angeles, WA.

Right before we started this last leg of our summer tour season our transmission went out in Elkins, WV which cost us over $5,000 to replace. Over 150 people born again in WV & PA

Over the last two and a half weeks we have ministered at 3 churches in WV and a family camp in PA. During these events we have seen over 150 children and teens come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their lives. We saw many awesome times of worship around the altars as children teens and parents came forward to surrender their life to God and go after more of Him. It's awesome to see God bless us with his presence during these times of ministry. 
After finishing our last service in Elkins, WV, we packed up and were ready to head home for a 3 day break before heading to KS, NE, WI, and MO for another 3 weeks. On our way out of town to head home our transmission on our truck went out and we were forced to hang out in Elkins, WV for 2 extra days while our truck got fixed. It cost almost $5000 to get the transmission replaced in our truck. Even though we would had rather been home for those 2 days, it could not have happened at a better time when we had a few days off to get it fixed. Praise God we did not have to cancel or postpone any events because of this!

Reaching Families in MO, MS, & GA

 

We are 2 weeks into our summer tour season and we have already ministered in 3 churches in 3 states Missouri, Mississippi, & Georgia. During these 3 family events, we saw 76 people come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their lives. I love seeing families learn, worship, have fun, and experience God together. 

This week we will be ministering in Mobile, AL. Then we are onward to AZ & CA. While we are in AZ we will be ministering at Sunshine Acres Children's Home for children that are orphans or their parents can no longer care for them because of drugs or their life is not together.  This will be the 1st time some of these children have experienced a ministry like ours. We are really looking forward to this event. These are the type of events we really love doing! Its ministry at its best!

During our 3 day event in Houston, MO we saw 46 children & teens come forward to be born again and make Jesus Lord of their lives. 

During our 3 day event in Oxford, MS we saw 20 people come forward  to be born again and the altars were packed the last 2 nights with entire families worshiping God and going after more of Him.

During our 3 day family event in Hamilton, GA we saw 10 people come forward to be born again and make Jesus lord of their lives.

We had an awesome 1st night of ministry at Faith Fellowship in Houston, MO. 20 people came forward to be born again & make Jesus Lord of their lives.

Awesome week of ministry in WV and OH

Monday - Wednesday of last week, we had the privilege of ministering at the West Logan Church of God in Logan, WV. This is the same city where the WV revival was taking place. While many teens and adults were making Jesus Lord of their lives at the WV Revival we saw 34 children come to Jesus and make him Lord of their lives. It was an awesome week of refreshing for the area with many salvation's!     Then on Saturday, we were able to partner with New Life Church of Springfield in Springfield, OH to conduct an outreach in the inner city community around their church. The Gospel was presented, the hungry were fed, and needs were met. Many people prayed to make Jesus Lord and were born again during this event. Outreach events like this are some of my favorite things to do! I love taking the gospel outside the church building to the streets to the people that really need Jesus the most.     On Thursday of this week we hit the road for our summer tour season. We will be gone for most of 3 months. We are trusting God to see may lives touched and changed this year. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel from coast to coast, North, South, East, and West this year ministering to children and families.

We got to present the Gospel outside of a church building during an inner city outreach  in Springfield, OH! Many people came to Jesus and lives were touched by the power of God!

JUST DO IT!!!!

Many time when we feel called to ministry we wait on a big break or job opportunity to open up and then we apply for the position. I have several friends that have a real desire to reach, disciple, and minister to people but cannot seem to get a position at a church. I have heard people say “every opportunity I apply for I do not get” or “I cannot seem to find a job in ministry”.

Before I go any further let me say that I am not against ministry positions or being in full time ministry. I have been in full time ministry most of my adult life. I am not against denominations even through our ministry is Non-Denominational. There are Definite benefits to being part of a denomination. Support, accountability, and fellowship, are just a few. We have been blessed to have ministered in over 35 different denominations during our over 30 years with Jubilee Gang Ministries. I have been children’s and youth pastor and at several different churches with pay from being volunteer to full time. When Jesus gave us the great commission in Matthew 28:19 to “Go into all the world and make disciples.” He did not say wait for a job opening at your local church. He did not say go to your denomination and see if they have any openings that you can apply for. Now thank God for these resources, but if they are not working for you JUST GO and DO IT!

Before I had my own ministry, before anyone knew who Jerry Moyer of the Jubilee Gang was, and before anyone wanted to schedule us at their church, I did not wait on a big break. I did not hope that someday my schedule would be full. I starting going to the local housing projects in Southern Ohio because of the love in my heart for the people there. No one was reaching out to them and I saw a need. When I went to the local housing authority and asked if we could do a crusade in the projects, they told me that there had never been any preaching in the projects and there never would be.

I did not give up on what was in my heart to do. As I was reading the newspaper one day, I saw where a professional baseball player had come back to our home town and started an anti-drug program in the projects. I felt in my heart to go to that organization and tell them that the “Just say No” campaign was not working. Kids need something to say yes to so they can say no to drugs.

I offered to do an anti-drug program for them that said “say yes to Jesus so that you can say no to drugs”. Anything to do with an anti-drug message was welcome through this organization. Our first event in the local housing projects we saw around 100 people born again. This happened over and over in different projects around the area. Before long the projects were calling us.

As I put my hand to ministering in the local housing projects because of the love I had for the people, God continued to open more and more doors to our ministry. First it was public schools. We offered them a free anti-drug program in exchange for the use of the building that evening for a large event where we could present the Gospel. Our first public school outreach we had 250 children in the school and 180 people came out that night to hear the gospel. Almost every one of them came forward to be born again. Then, we opened our program up to churches and it has grown over the last 30 years to where we are now.

Sometimes if we wait on a position or our denomination to get into ministry we might die waiting. If doors are not opening for you and you have a real desire to reach people with the Gospel and to make disciples. JUST DO IT!!!

The Bible says that Jesus was moved with compassion when He fed the 5,000, when He healed the sick. Compassion is loving someone so much that you have to do something to help them. If you feel the love of God welling up inside of you to help someone, pray for someone, or minister to a group of people that really needs Jesus. JUST DO IT!!!

I know of one man that is called to children’s ministry with a real desire to reach unchurched children with the gospel that could not seem to get a position at a church. Nobody wanted to hire him to do outreach. Instead of waiting on a church or denomination to hire him or find him a job, he just went and did it. Now he has a mobile children’s church in a converted Semi that he travels around United States ministering to children in under privileged communities, trailer parks and apartment complexes. He has taken church to them instead of waiting for an established church to step up to the plate. Recently he had someone donate some land with a building where he can minister to people locally. Instead of doing what organized religion said he must do to be in ministry he followed what he felt God had called him to do in his heart, and God opened doors and has blessed him with the things he has needed to fulfill the call on his life.

Now let me say this. There is a sacrifice involved in stepping out in faith and following God with no backing from a local church or denomination. Sometimes it might involve working a secular job to support yourself. Sometimes it might involve not living the American dream or having all the things our culture says we need to have. Jesus never promised us the American dream. He said “If you want to follow me, deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me.” That involves some dying to our desires to follow Jesus desires. I will admit sometimes I have looked at people with a steady income from ministry that are able to do all the cool things our culture offers with a little envy. I have asked the Lord,” why couldn’t you have called me to be an adult evangelist where I could fly in with my bible and preach to adults and take up a decent offering instead of hauling around almost 7,000 pounds of equipment and ministering to children that might give you a nickel or dime in an offering.” One time when I was complaining to the Lord about this he spoke to my heart and told me “what you are doing is precious to Me.” Well, that shut me up really quick and I about cried. Many times people have asked my wife and I “How long are you guys going to continue to do this ministry. You guys are starting to get a little older.” To which I reply, “Until God says stop.” You see when I made Jesus Lord of my life I surrendered my will to his will. As long as he needs me to do this I will keep on doing it. I will do it until he says stop. If the doors ever start closing for us to travel across the country ministering to children and families, we will become more localized. If there is no church that wants to hire me or that I feel that I fit into their vision, I will go to the people in our city that needs ministry the most. The ones that God tells me to minister to. I might have to get a job to support myself, but I will do what God has called me to do whatever the cost.

Let us proclaim to Hell that we will not conform to its plans for our lives no matter who the messenger is! Let us follow God and make a Maximum Impact for His Kingdom!
